My vehicle has been stolen. What do I do now?
1. Report the theft immediately to the police.
2. Notify STX Finance within 24 hours. We’ll guide you through the next steps.
I’ve had an accident. What should I do?
• Report the incident within 24 working hours by submitting the details through the STX Finance dashboard or app.
• Determine if you’d like to repair the vehicle. Please note that we cannot authorize repairs without an accident declaration form.
• If you choose to proceed with repairs, book an appointment at an approved service center via the STX Finance dashboard, or if using an external garage, upload the repair summary to your account once completed.
When should I present my vehicle for a technical inspection?
You are responsible for presenting the vehicle for its mandatory yearly technical inspection. Check the inspection certificate, which is always kept inside the vehicle, to verify the due date. You’ll also receive a reminder through your STX Finance Dashboard.
The vehicle must be presented for technical inspection at the times and in accordance with the regulations set by the country in which it is registered.
Who handles maintenance?
The lessee is responsible for all maintenance and repairs at their own expense.
Who is responsible for insurance?
STX Finance arranges the insurance for your vehicle. The cost is invoiced annually by default, but monthly billing is available upon request. A contractual excess applies, and the amount may vary depending on the vehicle type (e.g., trucks vs. 2-horse vans). The lessee is responsible for paying this excess in the event of a claim.
Can I transfer the lease to someone else?
No, lease transfers or sub-leasing are strictly not allowed under any circumstances. The contract is personal and cannot be swapped or reassigned.
Can I purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease?
Yes. If all conditions are met, you can purchase the vehicle by paying the residual value. For clients within the EU and abroad, a refundable VAT guarantee of 21% is required, along with a €2,000 deposit for the license plates. The VAT will be reimbursed once the vehicle is officially registered in your name and the STX plates are returned.
