Your responsibilities for vehicle maintenance
- To keep your vehicle in top condition, it’s essential to ensure it receives regular maintenance and any necessary repairs. You are responsible for servicing the vehicle at intervals recommended by the manufacturer and addressing any faults that may arise. Along with routine servicing, you’ll need to regularly check and maintain essential elements, such as tire pressure, oil, coolant, and antifreeze levels, following the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Additionally, a valid Technical Control certificate for your vehicle must be uploaded into your STX Finance account every time. You can check your vehicle’s control expiry date in your account if you’re unsure of the renewal date. Please note that driving without a valid certificate can affect insurance coverage and may result in fines.
How will i know when my vehicle needs servicing or technical inspection?
- Most modern vehicles will notify you when a service is due through a dashboard warning light, often in the shape of a spanner. Technical Inspections vary based on your vehicle’s make and model, so check in your app for the exact date when it is expected.
Requesting your vehicle service or technical control
- To schedule your vehicle for service or a technical control, log in to your account and make an appointment through our service team or your assigned dealer. You can also book it yourself at any official garage in your area, then easily upload the inspection certificate into your account.
